Hello Everyone,

My Name is Kasen Wally, I am a recent graduate of Auburn University with a Master's of Natural Resource Management. As such, I am honored to be affiliated with the College of Forestry, Wildlife, and Environment and the Conservation Governance Lab. My research has focused on anthropogenic threats to coastal ecosystems and environmental management strategies that impact coral reefs and coastal communities. In addition to my research, I have a keen interest in scientific communications and graphic design, which have complimented my work at Auburn University and become a focus of my career.

Outside of Auburn, Alabama, I am honored to have participated in coral reef restoration projects in Madagascar, Florida, and Haiti, which ignited my passion for coral reef conservation, community outreach, and scientific communications. Ultimately, my goal is to contribute to the success of decision-makers and practitioners who are working to curb the decline of coastal ecosystems worldwide.

“Like winds and sunsets, wild things were taken for granted until progress began to do away with them. Now we face the question whether a still higher ‘standard of living’ is worth its cost in things natural, wild and free.” - Aldo Leopold
